Life isn’t fair but in your favor

We hear many people say life isn’t fair. I don’t know what they really mean as it can mean many different things.

The saying Life isn’t fair is simply means I don’t deserve some things to happen in my life.

Life isn’t fair in your favor.

1.       Being a sinner, you deserve to die an eternal death. You deserve to be separated from God for eternity.  Jesus paid for your sin and you don’t deserve to have eternal life. It isn’t what you deserve it is just the favor of God.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

2.       When you sin you deserve to be punished for that. But God forgives you. You don’t deserve forgiveness. It is just the favor of God to have mercy on you.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, Acts 3:19

3.       When we were yet enemies of God for our own doing God sent Jesus to reconcile him with the rebels.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8

4.       He died for us when we hated him.

There is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. Romans 3:11

We love because he first loved us. John 4:19

5.       He received us as his sons and daughters.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

6.       He saved us for free

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8

He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. Psalm 103:10
