We are all are in a race

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 1 Corinthians 9:24-26
We are all in a kind of race in one way or another. They are all of the different values. some are earthly and the others have eternal values.
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:8
But the best game we are called to is so valuable that the reward is much better than any Olympic rewards.
  • This race isn't for selected few. Anyone can qualify for the who receives Jesus Christ who is sent to this world to die for our sins and paid our debt of sin. The opportunity is for everyone. And it is definitely it is possible to reject Jesus and loose the opportunity. But for whoever believes in Jesus will fulfill the race minimal. The fact that all of us can run and all of us can win makes this race unique. This race isn't for selected few who comes 1st to 3rd. We are all the members of the body of Christ. Our individual calling is different from the person next to us. It is difficult to compare hand with the eye unless in completing their assignments. Whoever finishes his or her assignment in life will be rewarded for that.
  • But no one is rewarded by accident in the race of life. It really takes focused determination to finish the assignment. It takes diligence and faithfulness to get the prize. That is why the bible tells us to "Run in such a way as to get the prize".
  • The Race takes self-discipline and patience. You don't just run with all your might just because you have all the energy. It takes self-control, discipline, and contentment. There are some things an athlete does do and doesn't do for the better outcome. An athlete disciplines his body in everything.
  • And the prize of the race of life is much more glorious that that of the Olympics. The games prize isn't long lasting. But the life prizes are. You can't take the game prize with you as they are held by the gravity. But you will definitely enjoy the eternal prize forever. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval." John 6:27
  • To get the eternal prize, you need to run with the determination and focus that keeps you from destruction. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. Matthew 13:22
  • The race takes to go the long way. It takes to finish. It takes determination and patience.
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, Hebrew 12:1
  • Jesus himself is the best example of the most successful race. If we fix our eyes on Jesus and follow His examples, we definitely win.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrew 12:1-2 For More Articles
