No Big Deal

There are some things we do in Christian's life that are not big deals. We sometimes think that they are. But they are not. They are ordinary that don't take God's power to do them. They are weak for our testimony about the power of God that works in us.

Testifying about the power of God in us takes completely different lifestyle. It takes sacrifices. And it takes to believe in the power of grace that equips us to live higher standards.

If you love those who love you, It isn't a big deal. Everybody can love those who love them. But you will be completely different if you love who hate you. If you pray for those who persecute you, you stand out from the crowd. That is a big deal. That takes something special.

If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? Mathew 5:46

Cursing who curses you is an ordinary lifestyle.  It isn't really a big deal if you curse those who curse you. Everybody are tempted to curse who curse them. But it takes higher life to bless who curse you.

bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:28

If you are strong in pleasant days, it isn't a big deal. There is nothing special and extraordinary about it. But if you are steadfast in the days of calamity, you show that you have something different.

If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! Proverbs 24:10

If you hate who hate you, it isn't  a big deal. Any natural person is inclined to do that. And if you do good to those who are good to you, there is nothing unique about it. But if you love you enemies and do good to them, that takes the power of God to do it and earns you credit.

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. Luke 6:27, 33

If we hope and believe what we have seen, it isn't either hope or faith. It takes something supernatural to believe what you don't see.

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? Romans 8:24

When Thomas heard about the resurrection of Jesus after his death, He said I don't believe unless I see. And he said he believes when he saw. But Jesus showed him a higher life.

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29

It is only by a sacrificial lifestyle that we can testify to the power of God that works in us. Nobody will see extraordinary in an ordinary lifestyle. Nobody sees the power of God in a natural lifestyle. But we can effectively testify about the salvation in Jesus by living out the life lives by the grace of God that enables us to live extraordinarily.

It is only by the higher lifestyle of grace that we testify about Jesus Christ and actually win souls for God.
