We need the presence of God for our success and fulfillment. People cannot be genuinely successful without God’s presence. They can achieve many things but at the expense of God himself.
God’s presence is one thing we strive to keep with us whatever we do in life. It isn’t a thing that we will remember when we just need something from God once in a while.
And God’s presence is real. It isn’t just a theoretical assumption that may or may not be practical. The presence of God is so real that there is a real that we will enjoy his power and glory work on behalf of us.
For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. 2 Chronicles 16:9
And the lack of His presence is so real that nothing genuine will seem work for us. There is a real chance that He will not approve what we do or cooperate with us in some circumstances even if he lives in us.
You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4:2-3
In the Old Testament, Moses heart cried for God presence and he knew that without it life and ministry is in vain.
Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. Exodus 33:15
We don’t need his yes less than Moses needed it.
Lack of the presence of the Lord is so real that the Holy Spirit oppose us leave alone He enjoy and approve some of the things we do.
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4: 29-30
God’s presence even depends on our thought lives.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9
The lack of the presence of God is so real that Jesus has to knock at the door of lives to be a part of it.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20
His presence is everything. It is our power, glory, our fulfillment, our significance and our success. Let’s determine to keep His presences more than fame and fortune anyway.
