The Way Faith Works

 

Faith is God's gift to us to fulfil our purpose in the spiritual world while we are on earth. We only reach out to God by faith. We only resist the attack of the spiritual realm through faith.

We can't really have a meaningful relationship with God without faith. We can't change things by exercising our childhood authority in the spiritual realm without faith. That is the very reason that we need to learn how faith operates.

Faith doesn't come with emotion or ambition. Faith has its own way of operating. Faith comes from the word of God.

So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17.

The first step of faith is to seek the word of God about our situation: "What does God say about my situation?" is the key question towards achieving something by faith. Answering the question of what God's Word says about what I want to achieve by faith is crusial. Finding the promise of God in the Bible is a major part of faith that shouldn't be overlooked. It is only after receiving God's thoughts through the word of God that we will be ready to do God's will by faith.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

Once we understand God's heart, we must pray about what we desire. Not only do we pray by faith, but we also align our thinking with the word. We confess the word. We also act according to the word we believe God has given us.

We must be in control of our thoughts.

Our thoughts should go along with our actions of faith. We shouldn't doubt in our hearts what we believed and prayed about.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

We shouldn't pray in faith, we shouldn't make dubious speeches, but our speech should be in line with the Word.

It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 2 Corinthians 4:13

We shouldn't live a life of fear, but we must walk boldly.

Jesus replied, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:21-22

We need to persevere and be grateful that we have received what we have believed, for faith confirms what we do not see. 

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

 "Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:23-24
